Rotary engraving is done by spinnig a carbide bit or 'cutter' up to 50,000 rpm across a surface. This bit is specialy shaped to engrave cleanly and release material without burning or melting. the cutter is controlled by a sophisticated set of motors that follow instructions given to them by a computer program. The rotary engraver is very useful in engraving items such as pens, nameplates, key holders, indoor signs and other items which require direct contact with the engraving tools.
