| A process in which an optically-read or stenciled art/copy is engraved (burned) into a material by a laser beam. Wood is the most common lasered material, but acrylic, some plastics, marble, leather and paper are also used. Metal requires specialized lasers, these machines are use to brand items such as pens, award plates, key holders, cardholders to mugs, glass, wood and other engravable items. The impact of laser engraving has been more pronounced for specially-designed "laserable" materials. |
